While in years past, January brought about the opening of applications for the May season of St’Artup317, this year, due to many factors, we aren’t quite ready. Trust we are working very hard to secure the support and funding necessary to bring pop ups to you, our emerging brands, creatives and small businesses. We are partnering with the City of Indianapolis to create a sustainable program that provides a runway for success for Indy brands.

Who can apply?
St’artUp317 welcomes applications from individuals, organizations or businesses who have an exhibit, a product, or a place-making initiative that can pop-up for 30 days during regular business hours or create an engaging window display that can be enjoyed 24/7. We're looking for artists, startups and established businesses who could benefit from exposure and revenue provided by a short-term pop-up in the heart of downtown Indianapolis while bringing activity & life to the space.
Calling all vacant storefronts!
If you have a ground floor retail space or window that you'd like to submit for consideration, please do so HERE! We are especially interested in space within 2 mile radius of Monument Circle and along the Red Line from U of I up to Broad Ripple.

The Mural Project
Murals for Racial Justice
The Murals for Racial Justice Project emerged in response to the nationwide unrest after the unjust murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. Involving over 20 artists, this initiative has given the local Black creative community an opportunity to tell their own story in the form of large scale art pieces publicly displayed on storefronts across downtown Indianapolis.
Police brutality is one of many social injustices faced by Black Americans. The demand for systemic change and visibility persists. The Mural Project is essentially an effort to uplift Black voices using a medium that will stand the test of time, art. Through art stories are told, history is made and the community is impacted in a meaningful way.
This project is a stand against the ongoing oppression of Black Americans and this story captures and highlights the Black artists that brought this initiative to life.
“With St’Art Up 317, small businesses and vacant spaces around Indianapolis can finally get the love they deserve.”
